STUDENT ENGAGEMENT, DIGITAL CONTENT CREATION, AND SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT: Cal Poly Psychology and Child Development Department
September 2023 - December 2023 & July 2024
All department students and faculty (~700 people) received the weekly newsletter on Tuesdays via email.
My role:
Responsible for using the university’s enterprise software, Drupal, to collaboratively edit and generate each weeks newsletter with the head of the PSY/CD department.
Organized incoming submissions (submitted via email or Google Form entries) to be posted in the newsletter.
Learned Cal Poly’s university-wide website software to create and edit the newsletter.
Created graphics to be included in the newsletter related to student events or deadlines (class registration, student events, research presentations) using Canva.
Helped produce engaging activities or columns to include in the newsletter (reached out to students and faculty to be included in “Student/Faculty Spotlight” each week, generated interview questions for participants to answer).
Initial layout of newsletter was created by the department head. Each week, I edited and generated a new newsletter using this framework.

Administrative Updates & Material Production
Updated Cal Poly PSY/CD website using university online software, with refreshes such as updating professor office hours, finding and fixing typos, or creating pages outlining professor’s research foci.
Produced up to date Staff and Faculty poster of ~50 individuals, using Adobe InDesign. Retrieved photos and information for poster by specifically reaching out to faculty and staff members.
